Used Hisun Parts

Inspected used Hisun parts are available from Sun Coast Cycle Sports, pulled from donor machines at our Florida warehouse and listed with individual photographs and unique SKU numbers. Hisun is one of the largest UTV manufacturers in North America by volume, and its engines and drivetrains appear under several different brand labels. Our Hisun inventory covers the Sector, Strike, and HS series, and many of these parts also fit machines branded as Coleman, Massimo, Bennche, Cub Cadet Challenger, and others built on the same Hisun platforms.

Hisun model overview

Hisun Motors Corporation is a Chinese manufacturer founded in 1988 that has grown into the sixth-largest UTV producer in North America. The company operates Hisun Motors Corp. USA with assembly operations in Texas. Hisun produces a complete range of UTVs and ATVs under its own brand name and also serves as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for several well-known retail brands. Coleman Powersports UTVs sold at Tractor Supply are Hisun machines with Coleman branding. Cub Cadet Challenger UTVs sold through home improvement and outdoor power equipment dealers are built on Hisun platforms. Massimo, Bennche, and Bad Boy Bandit machines also use Hisun engines and drivetrains. This OEM relationship means that a single Hisun engine part number can fit a dozen different branded models, making cross-referencing a critical skill for owners sourcing parts.

Hisun's own branded lineup is organized into the Sector series (utility-focused SxS), the Strike series (sport-oriented SxS), and the HS series of ATVs. Displacement ranges from 250cc single-cylinder models to 1000cc V-twins. The company also produces a 48-volt electric UTV in the Sector line.

Common failure points and frequently replaced components

Sector 550 / 750 (starter motor failure): Starter motors on the 550 and 750 platforms are a common failure point, particularly on machines exposed to wet conditions. Water intrusion into the starter housing causes internal corrosion and bearing seizure. Symptoms progress from slow cranking to complete failure. The starter motor is shared across Hisun, Coleman, Massimo, and Bennche models at the same displacement.

All Hisun models (CVT belt and drive clutch): The CVT belt is the most frequently replaced wear item across the entire Hisun lineup. Belt life ranges from 500 to 2,000 miles depending on riding conditions, load, and maintenance habits. The primary drive clutch can develop glazing on the sheave faces that accelerates belt wear. Cleaning the clutch sheaves with a scotch-brite pad during every belt change significantly improves belt longevity.

Sector 750 / 1000 (fuel system): The V-twin models can develop fuel delivery issues related to the fuel pump assembly and fuel pressure regulator. Symptoms include hard starting after sitting, rough idle, and hesitation under acceleration. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank and requires tank removal for replacement.

All models (charging system): Stator and rectifier/regulator failures affect Hisun machines across all displacement classes. Symptoms include a battery that fails to maintain charge, dimming headlights at idle, and eventual no-start conditions. The charging system components are shared across models at the same displacement and also cross-reference to Coleman and Massimo equivalents.

All models (parts availability and customer support): Multiple owners report difficulty reaching Hisun customer support and experiencing extended wait times for warranty parts. This challenge affects all brands built on Hisun platforms and makes the used parts market an essential resource for keeping these machines operational.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Which brands use Hisun engines and drivetrains?

Hisun serves as the OEM for multiple brands sold in North America. Coleman Powersports (sold at Tractor Supply), Cub Cadet Challenger (sold through outdoor power equipment dealers), Massimo (sold at Tractor Supply and independent dealers), Bennche, and Bad Boy Bandit all use Hisun-manufactured engines and drivetrains. A Hisun Sector 550 engine is physically the same unit found in a Coleman Outfitter 550, Cub Cadet Challenger 550, and Massimo T-Boss 550. Engine internals, clutch components, fuel system parts, and many electrical components interchange across all of these brands.

Q: Will Coleman Outfitter parts fit my Hisun Sector?

Engine, transmission, CVT, fuel system, and most electrical components are interchangeable between Hisun Sector and Coleman Outfitter models at the same displacement (550 to 550, 750 to 750). Body panels, seats, and cosmetic trim pieces are brand-specific and generally do not interchange. Suspension and frame components are typically shared within the same generation of the platform.

Q: How do I find the right parts for my Hisun when the model numbers vary by brand?

The most reliable method is to use the engine displacement and engine serial number. Hisun stamps engine numbers on the crankcase near the cylinder base. This number is consistent regardless of which brand label is on the vehicle. Hisun Parts Central and Motorcycle Doctor both maintain cross-reference databases linking Hisun part numbers to Coleman, Massimo, Bennche, and Cub Cadet equivalents. When possible, reference the Hisun part number rather than the branded model name.
